Our Bengali deptt. orgamized a seminar on “Bangla Bhasa” on 21st August 2016.

Eligibility Criteria

Honours subject % of marks required in H.S or equivalent examination
Economics For General Category :

60% marks in aggregate and 60% marks in Mathematics/or 60% Marks in Business Mathematics or Economics.

For SC/ST/OBC – A/OBC – B Category:

40% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in Mathematics/Business Mathematics or Economics.

For Physically Challenged & For Outstanding Sports Person :

50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in Subject Mathematics/Business Mathematics or Economics.

For ECONOMICS Honours :

A candidate shall be allowed to take up Honours in Economics if she has passed in Mathematics at the H.S. Examination (10+2) conducted by West Bengal Council of H.S. Education or its Equivalent examination in Mathematics/Business Mathematics. Students who have passed Business Economics including Business Mathematics in H.S. (10+1) level from West Bengal Council of H.S. Education are also eligible for admission in the Honours Course in Economics.

Geography For General Category :

55% Marks in aggregate and 60% Marks in Geography.

For SC/ST/OBC – A/OBC – B Category :

40% Marks in aggregate and 40% Marks in Geography.

For Physically Challenged & For Outstanding Sports Person :

50% Marks in aggregate and 45% Marks in Geography.

Education For General Category :

55% Marks in aggregate and 60% Marks in subject or related subject.

For SC/ST/OBC – A/OBC – B Category :

40% Marks in aggregate and 40% Marks in Education or related subject.

For Physically Challenged & For Outstanding Sports Person :

50% Marks in aggregate and 45% Marks in Subject or related subject.

Activities conducted by department

Beyond the wide coverage of syllabus, the department adds some innovative methods to make the topics easily-understandable and interesting to the students.

  1. The role reversal session has been taken where the students have acted as teachers and vice-versa.
  2. Sometimes some assignments have been provided to the students.

Achievement(s) of the Department:

  1. Large collection of reference books is available in Central Library.
  2. The Department has concluded Collaborative Research Programme with foreign Universities.
