Salient features of the Library
The library is computerised. Application of computer for cataloguing books started in the year 2004 with the software WINISIS. At present Open Source Library Management Software Koha (version 21.05) cloud hosted by the Bengal Library Association, is in use. At present bibliographical records of 23685 books are available in the library database. Periodicals are also properly recorded in the database.
Online access to the library catalogue is available. The library catalogue can be searched through OPAC in the library page of the college website. Quick access facility have been provided for OPAC through QR code
All books in regular circulation have been bar coded. Student membership cards have also been bar coded to facilitate automation of the circulation work. RFID technology has been introduced in the library from the academic session 2019-20.
The Library is a member of UGC N-List Consortium.
SNSC has its own OER software to help the student to access required study materials.
There is a repository of C. U. new syllabus and C. U. Question papers for the last few years in the library page of the college website.
Principal Madam has introduced special prizes for three most frequent library users from the academic session 2022-23.
