(** There will be Admission Test in English) Students applying for English Honours course will have to appear in an Admission Test, which will be conducted on 16.06.2011 at 7.30 A.M. They are requested to follow the concerned notice. They must present the online Challan Receipt as Admit card.

NORMS FOR ADMISSION OF GENERAL CANDIDATES
1. Those making Online Application for admission, a merit list will be published strictly following norms set by the college authority as per University rules.
2. Eligibility for making Online Application, however does not guarantee admission.
3. Physically handicapped candidates must submit a certificate from the competent authority.
4. Students must have passed with at least 4 recognized subjects. The applicant must secure qualifying marks in English.
5. Marks obtained in Painting, Art, Fine Arts, ENVS and other non-allied subjects will not be taken into account.
6. Separate Online Application forms should be submitted when a student opts for Honours in different subjects.
7. Foreign students should contact Principal for admission.
NORMS FOR ADMISSION OF SC/ST CANDIDATES
1. Seats are reserved in all courses for SC/ST and physically handicapped candidates as per W.B.Govt rules.
- For SC candidates 22% , for ST candidates 6%, for physically handicapped candidates 3%, Sports Quota 2%.
- Candidates are required to produce certificates issued by the appropriate Authority during submission of online admission form. For SC/ST candidates certificates from D.M/A.D.M./S.D.O/B.D.O/M.P./M.L.A/Zilla Parishad Member/ Councillor / Gazzeted officer/Commissioner are essential.
- This certificate must to be substantiated by Govt.document in original.
- For Physically Handicapped candidates a certificate from Presidency Surgeon / Chief Medical Officer of the District is essential. For availing Sports Quota candidates must produce certificate of participation in National/state meet.
2. The SC/ST Candidates qualifying for admission against unreserved seats by dint of merit/marks shall be admitted against unreserved seats and they shall not be counted against reserved seats.
3. Seats reserved for ST and SC candidates shall be filled up by the General applicants in case the seats remain vacant.
4. Calcutta University has prescribed “a candidate taking up Honours must have obtained minimum 40% marks in aggregate or 40% marks in the subjects at the previous Qualifying examination.” The rule applies to the SC/ST students only.
IMPORTANT DATES
1. Online Application submission will start from 05.06.2011, at 7.00A.M and will continue till 14.06.2011, up to 7.00 P.M.
2. List of selected candidates will be published on 21.06.2011 at 9.00 A.M both in College notice board and in the website.
3. Dates of admission of selected candidates are: 28th, 29th & 30th June, 2011 from 7.00A.M to 9.00A.M.
4. Second List will be published on 01.07.2011 at 9.00 A.M (if necessary).
