Awards and Prizes

For General Proficiency: The Best Student of the different courses of study are awarded the following prizes based on results of the university examination.

  1. Rabindranath Centenary Commemoration Medal

To the best students of the Degree Course in the faculty of Arts, Science and Commerce on the basis of the results in their Part-II final university examination, in both Honours and General stream (minimum marks required 50% to pass and 60% for passing with Honours).

  1. Prizes awarded on the basis of the results of B.Com. (Honours) Part –II and III Examination

Out of funds provided by Prof. B.K. Sengupta, prizes each of cash value of Rs. 50/- are awarded to successful candidates sent up from our college for B.Com. (Honours.) Part -II and III Examinations, securing highest marks. The prizes are named after Smt. Prativamayee Debi, Smt. Annapurna Debi, Sri Mukundapada Roy and Sri Deba Prasad Sengupta respectively.

  1. Late Lilakirtan Singer, Shefali Saha, Sangeet Sudhakar Smriti Purashkar Scholarship

Awarded by Sri Rameshlal Saha to be paid every year in cash, to the student securing the highest marks in Bengali Honours (Part-II & III taken together).

  1. Late Sudhangshu Kumar Basu Memorial Prize, Late Amiyabala basu Memorial Prize

Awarded every year to the student securing the highest marks in Bengali Honours (Part-II & III taken together), awarded by Smt. Reba Rudra (Retired Lecturer).

e) Late Kanti Rani Chakraborty Memorial Prize

Awarded to the student securing highest marks in Education Honours (Part-II & III taken together) by

by Late Chtralekha Chakraborty.

f) Sri Mohannanda Brahmachari Benevolent Fund

Three Cash prizes of equal value to the students for (1) Securing the highest marks in English Honours

in the final University Examination (2) Securing the highest marks in Sanskrit (General) in the

University Examination and (3) Securing the highest marks in the University Examination (Degree-

General & Honours) awarded by Sri Kalyannath Dutta (Retired Lecturer).

g) Hemangini Rai Dastidar prizes –

Cash prize of Rs. 200/- or books of equivalent value is awarded every year to the candidate standing

First in order of merit at the Part I+II and Part-III (Honours) Examination of the B.A. Degree Course at

the end of the 3rd year under the 3 year Degree Course out of this Endowment Fund.

Many other prizes are awarded by former and present teachers of the college in different subjects in different examination.

Prizes in individual subjects on the basis of Part-1 Selection Test

Part I – B.A. & B.Sc. (Degree Course) in Economics, Political Science (Honours & General), Geography (Honours & General), Botany (General), History (Honours & General), Geography (Honours & General), Bengali (Honours), English (Honours). To be eligible, candidate must secure First Class Marks. All Prizes are awarded on the basis of the results of University Examination.
